Why Start Now?

This year I'll be 45 years old, and I decided to learn how to silversmith, sell my work in an Etsy shop, and build my own website.
Why now?
Well, my mother Alice, who passed away three years ago, got her masters degree in social work when she turned 60 years old. She retired, went back to school, got her degree, and then started her own business as a family therapist....at 60 years old. Because one day, one week, one year of that kind of pride is worth the starting and the enduring of something new. Plus, if you find something you're excited about, the learning feels more like winning your own private contest...with only one participant...and winner...well, you get it. Starting now means you and I are invested in our own lives, the possibilities in our lives. So, yes, start NOW.
Start the new job, start a new relationship, start training for that thing, watch a YouTube video and then take an online course.....just start learning. Your thing may not be my thing, but start anyway. It pays off in a renewed passion in life.

I love your 'Why' Katie. Beautifully written and motivating.
So inspirational just like your Mom and beautiful like your work!
